How devising new methods for influencing people through

 How social media
affects business and market in general. Social media and social networking seem
to play an imperative part of people’s lives around the world. Sitting behind a
computer communicating with friends through digital means can be easy and fun
but can weaken a person’s verbal communication skills. I will not only focus on
the negative impacts, but also I will focus on the positive impacts on
communication through social media. I will also explore how social media and
networking strengthens and weakens communication.

Accessibility that one has to the internet through smartphones,
tablets, computers, and other mobile devices has made accessing information and
connecting with people very easy nowadays. People are communicating almost all
day every day through texting, e-mail, and the ever-expanding social media
accounts. Digital Life has been so modern, an explosion in popularity and
usage, social media has become the new norm when it comes to communicating everything
from huge life events like engagements and the birth of children to minute
particulars like what one ate for dinner.

With social media increasingly becoming embraced by people,
businesses are taking advantage of this trend and incorporating social media into
their business-level and corporate-level strategies.  Social media has a
substantial impact on multinational firms. Globally, organizations are embracing
the fact social media is much cheaper and convenient way of achieving business
growth. This is because corporations can develop their brands easily and
cheaply by using the influential nature associated with social media. Social
media has also revolutionized global marketing, wherein marketers are not only
depending on just communicating with their target audience, but also devising
new methods for influencing people through social media. Social media also
helps in cutting marketing costs. Overall, social media has positive impacts on
global businesses, particularly with regard to customer relationship
management, customer retention, expansion of client base, market research, and
public relations.

EMAIL MARKETING is
directly a commercial message, to a group of

people
using email. In its broadest sense, every email sent to a

potential or
current customer could be considered email marketing.

 SOCIAL MEDIA MARKETING programs usually
center on efforts to

create content
that attracts attention and encourages readers to share

it across their
social networks.

Social
media is helping to forge a new era in business
transparency and engagement, creating both new challenges and opportunities.
Gone are the days when companies could rely on carefully written press releases
or eye catching ad campaigns to communicate with their customers, often in an
attempt to convince people that their products are the best in the field. In
the age of social media, the rules have changed,  people today demand a more honest and direct
relationship with the companies with which they do business.

Companies
now face a clear choice: wall themselves in and become increasingly controlled
and hidden, or use social media and other means to reveal their human side,
welcome transparency, and forge new relationships with their customers. The old
game is undoubtedly over, and the question now is, “what can businesses
do to transform and succeed in this new era?

The History of Social Media

The
first recognizable social media site, was created in 1997. It enabled users to
upload a profile and make friends with other users. In 1999, the first blogging
sites became popular, creating a social media sensation that’s still popular
today. • Social media are Internet sites where people interact freely, sharing
and discussing information about each other and their lives, using a multimedia
mix of personal words, pictures, videos and audio. At these Web sites,
individuals and groups create and exchange content and engage in
person-to-person conversations.
